Television as a savior

Now let's talk about the positive aspect. Yes, television (especially low-quality TV shows, fiction movies with lots of blood and violence etc.) may do harm to young viewers - and not only to the young ones, because we know how powerful the educational function of the television is for everybody. Even if you're 30 years old you will sooner or later become less resistant to the information that's shown on TV if you watch it all the time. So beware and try to analyze everything you see before you believe what is said by the people on TV. But on the other hand, the positive change the television has brought in our lives is also amazing! It has enriched our lives with more action and information that would be available to very few people if there wasn't television at all. But the most advantageous television has probably become to handicapped people, i.e. people with certain physical and mental disabilities. Really, try to imagine what a person unable to walk would do a hundred years ago. Presence of someone else (like someone from the family or a friend) would save him, but imagine if there is no someone else. Handicapped people were destined to live their lives all alone, which is terrible when you come to think of it. This must be the most horrible thing to happen to a human being – being lonely all the time. And television has changed this situation. Of course, you cannot talk to a TV or ask it to make you a cup of coffee. But still, TV gives you action that you may lack in your life, and this is wonderful.
