Television manipulation

Although television is made for our entertainment and enjoyment, certain tricks are always played by the TV makers for this or that reason. They play them for different reasons and have different goals but the truth is that not anything is true on TV and you shouldn't believe everything you see. Let's see where we get deceived.
First thing is the news. Be careful watching the news. Once you watch them, you must take into account the country you're living (if you're living in Russia or in China you should better turn on the radio and listen to some foreign radio stations, or buy a satellite antenna if you get the chance). The matter is that the authoritarian traditions always remain strong even if the authoritarian regime no longer exists. TV news don't deceive you directly, they use special psychological tricks and techniques that are in fact very simple. They show you only the events that the regime wants you to see and comment them the way they are supposed to. So if you are expected to hate a neighboring country for not willing to follow the policy of your Big Brother, most probably you will hate it. Not because you're a bad person, but because the regime wants you to think that every single person in that country is bad. So when you turn on the TV and hear the same idea told you in a hundredth manner – think again, maybe you should not watch this channel at all.
Another major fraud on TV is connected with commerce, and I think it should be regarded somewhat less dangerous than the ideological and political propaganda influencing people's opinions.
